Vimeo “Starting Over” Contest Winner
Shit! Did it really take us this long to announce the winners of this contest? Yes, it did. Sorry, everybody. We kind of broke India and then went on a bunch of tours and recorded with GZA and stuff. Anyway, all the submissions to our contest were great. It was impossible to pick just one winner. But we're the Black Lips, and we make the impossible...possible. So without further ado, we'd like to extend a hearty congrats to Alex Goldberg and Ben Schecter, the creators of our favorite "Starting Over" video. It's a little known fact that the rough around the edges foursome were actually in attendance at Cannes Film Festival this year. That's right, the boys were cordially invited to attend and perform at the well-to-do Jalouse and L'Optimum magazines party. And HERE ladies and gentleman, is the proof. Watch and enjoy. As if the Black Lips haven't kept you on your toes, they've got a few more developments to make your jaw drop. The guys have released Drop I Hold EP, which features Drop I Hold Featuring Wu-Tang's GZA, today and is available exclusively through iTunes.
Our cronies at VBS.tv premiered the Drop I Hold video. Check it out but don't be alarmed if you feel as if you're tripping, it's only natural.

In return for those individuals at SXSW that had their minds blown when GZA stepped up on stage to perform with the Black Lips, the people at Spinner premiered the release of the collaboration yesterday. Those of you who were not at SXSW might be thinking, “Black Lips and GZA? Hmm, I don’t know.” Jared Swiley of the Black Lips speaks on the rap/rock fusion by saying, “It’s led to some of the worst music of all-time.
